How to Add a Product to Your Squarespace Store (Step-by-Step Guide)
Here it is, my first post within the ecommerce section of the website! In this tutorial, I will talk you through adding a product to your Squarespace website—Whatever you are selling (a product, digital asset, or service) this will apply to you.
Squarespace offers tons of options for course creators and membership providers also, but that’s for another post.
Squarespace is by far the best platform for eCommerce businesses. It offers an all in 1 system for fulfilling orders, whilst making your design stand out from your competitors with ease.

Let’s jump right in.
Why Should I Use Squarespace For My Store?
Squarespace is an all in 1 platform that makes fulfillment that much easier, allowing the following:
✅ Physical products (clothing, accessories, home goods, etc.)
✅ Services (consulting, coaching, event bookings, etc.)
✅ Digital products (e-books, templates, courses, etc.)
✅ Gift cards & subscriptions
Platforms like Shopify and Wix, although offering e-commerce capabilities, honestly do lack when it comes to 1) User interface, and 2) The ability to maintain a stunning design with ease.
Step 1: Navigate to product settings
After logging in, navigate to the following…
1️⃣Navigate to “Commerce” then “Products”
2️⃣Then select “Create”
Select one of the following options, depending on what you want to offer customers:
Physical Product (as in clothing, materials, gifts, etc…)
Services (Coaching, personal training, etc...)
Digital Product (ebook, templates, PDFs)
Custom Clothing (print-on-demand service)
For this example, we will go with a simple physical product, but it is almost an identical process no matter what you select.
Step 2: Add Product Details
1️⃣ Click “Physical Product”
2️⃣ Enter a Product Name. - Example: Suitcase
3️⃣ Upload an Image - Make sure it is clear and high quality.
4️⃣ Set the Price - Example - £25
5️⃣ Write a Product Description - informative and compelling.
Example:
"This stylish orange suitcase is stunning and fit both travel and style. Crafted using real animal leather, it includes a spacious size, adjustable straps, and a timeless design."
Step 3: Variants and Discounts
Add Product Variants - Sizes, materials, colors…
Discounts - BOGOF
Squarespace even offers recurring payments.
Step 4: Shipping, Categories & Tags
📦 Shipping – Ensure to set accurate size, and weight measurements
📂 Categories & Tags – Organize your inventory with categories and tags
🛍️ Upsell with Related Products – Recommend similar products to your customers
Step 5: Checkout
🛒 Customize Checkout Text (E.g., “Buy Now” vs. “Add to Cart”)
📍 Either enable Guest Checkout or require account sign-ups
🚀 Click “Save & Publish”
