Adjusting Page Width & Site Margin on Squarespace

I constantly come across Squarespace websites that are completely out of proportion. Logos aren’t in line with the page text, images aren’t in line with forms, and everything is all over the place. Never fear though, as those with Squarespace websites, this problem can be fixed within a few seconds in site styles.

Let’s walk through it.

I’ve also created a video for those who find a visual guide a little bit easier. Let me know what you think guys.

Adjusting The Page Width & Site Margin On Squarespace

Step 1: Open Site Styles

  1. Select edit on the Squarespace dashboard (you will find this on the top left).

  2. Go to site styles in the Squarespace editor (you will find this in the top right).

  3. Select Miscellaneous and you will find Spacing.

Step 2: Adjust Page Width

  1. You will find 2 options, we will start with page width.

  2. Move the slider from left to right to control how wide the squares go on your website.

  3. This defines the width of the content blocks on your page (so will not go the entire length of the page).

Step 3: Adjust Site Margin

  1. Navigate to the Site Margin slider on the same page.

  2. Use the slider from left to right to reduce or increase the padding between your content and the edge of the screen.

  3. 0 Will make the content almost touch the sides.

Recap

  • Page Width controls how wide your content blocks span.

  • The site Margin is the space between the page content and the site edge.
